Our Prescriber Program is meticulously designed to empower practitioners with the specialized knowledge and skills required to master the art of prescribing and scripting in the field of aesthetic medicine and deliver exceptional patient care and results.

  • Learning Objectives
  • Upon completion of this module, prescribers should learn that:

    • Anti-wrinkle injections refer to the injection of neurotoxins. Neurotoxins block neurotransmission, resulting in temporary paralysis of facial muscles which reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Prescribers need to have an understanding of the anatomy of the target area and standard dosing in order to prevent and manage possible complications. Prescribers also need to understand the potential side-effects of anti-wrinkle injections in order to fully inform patients of potential risks and benefits, and identify patients suitable for treatments.
    • Dermal fillers are used to restore volume to the skin, enhance facial features and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Prescribers need to be familiar with the types and characteristics of different dermal fillers in order to achieve the desired outcome whilst minimising adverse events. Prescribers should also be aware of the side effects and risks associated with dermal filler injections.
    • Vascular occlusion is a medical emergency. Though rare, vascular occlusion is a serious complication associated with dermal filler injections. All prescribers need to have adequate understanding of facial arterial anatomy and standard hyaluronidase emergency protocols in order to promptly manage vascular complications.
    • Prescribers should work with injectors and their patients to develop a personalised treatment plan for each patient to achieve the desired aesthetic goals while ensuring patient safety. Prescribers need to be aware of the importance of post-treatment care and follow-up, and be able to manage adverse reactions that may arise.
